Student care

At Fontys we care for our students. We want you to feel at home even though you are far away from home. The relationship between professors and students is open and on a first name basis. Because of the relatively small size of the English Stream programme everybody knows each other. Being in touch with senior students is helpful and fun.

Working in small groups

Most of the subjects are taught in small groups of students. This allows the professor to help out each individual student during class. It also helps to get a safe and comfortable atmosphere in the classroom.

Buddy-programme

Once you would enroll into the programme, you will get a so-called personal “buddy”. This is one of our senior students who will be easy to reach and who can answer questions that will make your move to Eindhoven a lot easier. For example, your buddy knows where to find the second hand bike shops, how to open a bank account, etc. This system has proven to be very helpful to make your start as a student a lot easier and more fun.

Tutor system

During the study programme you will have a tutor. This is a professor who monitors your study progress during the complete programme. The tutor can be of help with a lot of different things. For instance: help with guidance for study planning or help in case of personal problems (always strictly confidential). If the tutor can not help you himself, he will refer you to someone who can.

Work and study
If you wish to work part-time and study at the same time, there are several possibilities.
Students with a student resident permit are allowed to work about 10 hours a week (if the education permits it) or the equivalent during the holidays.  blok_geel.jpg
